Newsflash: NWN Enhanced Edition has been launched. Similar to Baldur's Gate and other games that where "enhanced" by the developer Beamdog...Unfortunately it seems to have been prematurely released and development and actual enhancements and improvements are not good enough yet to urge us to move this server. Also the current state of the database plugins for NWN:EE is unfortunately making it very technically challanging to move the server.

Neverwinter Nights is one of the most popular roleplaying games ever created. It was developed by Bioware who also made Baldur's Gate. It is an isometric- and 3D-view roleplaying game, featuring both single-player and multi-player. It is based on Dungeons & Dragons 3ed rules and it is the computer game that has come the furthest in implementing the pen-och-paper feel.
It comes with a "toolset" to create your own adventures as well as a separate client for joining the game as a Dungeon Master. Combined with the possiblity for large, persistent, online servers, you can say it comes with a toolkit to make your own mini-MMORPG's. The modding community is (or at least was) huge, why there is a plethora of custom content.
Although the game is quite old, first released in year 2002, I personally think it still is the only MMORPG-like game that deserves my attention. No other game can provide the "realistic"-fantasy-look, in-depth and engaging gameplay, solid multiplayer platform and a complete-control-toolkit. That is why I decided to make yet another attempt at finding a host for my favourite server from many years ago.
